Tekam Engineering offers a full range of Prebreaker Overhaul Services.
Workshop PB3 overhaul: Approximately $13,500.00 plus GST
- Strip / dis-assemble, clean, inspect for wear and damage, crack test & thickness test. Report. Change bearings, repair minor body work, Build up and/or face harden hammers and anvils. Paint.
- Any major repairs or replacement hammers and anvils required will be quoted for approval before being installed.
Workshop PB3 overhaul incl Motor and gearbox: Approximately $21,000.00 plus GST
As above but includes the following:
- Motor testing and gearbox overhauls: Motors will be tested and reported. If service work is required it will be quoted. Bearings changed if necessary. Gearboxes will be stripped cleaned, inspected/tested and reported/quoted for repair/replace of bearings, gears, seals etc. New oil and workshop tested for alignment.
- If the PB3 is a total overhaul with motor gearbox, the pre-breaker will be aligned prior to delivery. (We recommend alignment is checked again once the pre-breaker is in place).
Onsite PB3 service work: Approximately $6,500.00 plus GST
- Clean, Inspect and report for test for cracking, damage which will affect the machines performance and/or life span.
- Face harden hammers and anvils, grind to operational standard.
- Repairs to minor body damage body.
- Re-torque anvils and re-weld.
- Re-align coupling and check shear pins for replacement.
- Site paint.
- Shaft bearings can be replaced on site if required provided there is enough room to remove the shaft. Bearing and seal, replacement work would be quoted.
Workshop PB4 overhaul: Approximately $19,000.00 plus GST
- Strip / dis-assemble, clean, inspect for wear and damage, crack test, thickness test. Report. Change bearings, repair minor body work, Build up and/or face harden hammers and anvils. Paint.

We have subsidised freight available for Prebreaker pickup and delivery for workshop overhauls.
